About Palestine Community Forest:
Palestine Community Forest is a heavily wooded tract of land, just over 700 acres in size, on the northwest side of the City of Palestine in East Texas. Access points are around the intersection of North Loop 256 and Texas 19/287 North (take 19/287 north out of Palestine; a few miles outside of town look for signage). Another part of the tract is around Wolf Creek Lake adjacent to the city airport via CR 4201.
There are several creeks and four small lakes within the Palestine Community Forest, which is made up primarily of pine trees, hardwood, sumac, yaupon and sweetgum trees.
Fishing and boating are possible on the lakes within the area, and picknicking is always popular. Scenic drives lead to the lakes.
More information about the Palestine Community Forest is available at the Tourist Information Center at 1825 Spring Street; or call the info center at 903-723-3014.
