About the Science Spectrum Museum and Omni Theater:
The Science Spectrum Museum offers more than 200 interactive exhibits, more than 30 aquariums and terrariums, and plenty more fun stuff for the whole family.
Exhibits include Science of Sports, where visitors learn, among other things, why balls bounce; Flight, which includes authentic NASA space suits and rocket engines; and Kidspace, a special area designed for children ages 5 and under. Other exhibits carry such names as Weather Center, Body Zone, Light & Sight, Physics in Motion and Bubbles.
The Omni Theater boasts a 58-foot domed screen with a 160-degree panoramic view. A regular slate of movies, many but not all of them science-related (for example, one focuses on chasing tornadoes across the plains - something that's always a concern in the Texas Panhandle Plains), plays on the theater screen.
There are separate entry fees for the Science Spectrum Museum and for the Omni Theater, or a combo ticket is available. The Science Spectrum Museum is open Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-6 p.m., and Sunday 1-5 p.m. Show times for the Omni Theater vary.
